This is how we celebrated our Martin Luther King Jr. Day!

Because we had a holiday Angie, Carolyn, & Grandma Aftie decided to come up to Logan and pay us a visit.  Angie brought up a cute idea for some valentine blocks!  They turned out super cute, so if you want any ask Angie.... we decided she needs to start selling them, and make millions :)
Angie's blocks above & mine (Laura's) below

Picture time w/ the blocks.... we are so proud of ourselves!
Our visitors!  Even though we were a little cramped in our apartment we loved the company & food!  Thanks for the fun evening ladies

Clark & I spent the night at the cabin and went skiing earlier today!  Clark took a few photos of the trees up there, they looked pretty sweet since they were covered in ice thanks to the inversion.

Happy Birthday Melissa

29 Years of wonderful memories. Although she didn't receive a lot of gifts, Melissa was able to enjoy a wonderful day with some friends. And sad but true she made her own cake, but I am so glad she did. It was awesome, chocolate cake with breyers ice cream smashed in between. Too bad we had so many friends over or maybe it is a good thing, I don't need any left overs.
Melissa is a great wife and mom. She has overcome a great deal of adversity in her and keeps shining. In fact, Melissa is the first of her siblings to make it to 29.

I love you Melissa. I hope you had a great day!

Pink Cloud Express

This August 10th, it's time to celebrate & do a little dance,
'cuz mom is turning 60 and she'd like to go to Paris, France!

Surprise, Surprise oh Carolyn Dear,
You're heading on a journey but have no fear!!

Over the Ocean sea you'll go
to a place that has a tower and also has snow!!!

On August 13th, you'll board a plane on your own,
But don't worry when you reach you destination you won't be alone.

The Parisian's are stuffy and drink too much wine,
So Dad is paying to send you somewhere much more divine!!!!

You've written poems over the years for EVERYONE,
Now it's time for you to have some FUN!!!

Now pack your bags and get set,
You're off to see someone you've never met!!!!

(In case you've not figured it out call 801-983-0666 for more details)

if it isn't one, its another.....

As you can see here, we have Liza.
And yes, that is her beautiful sling.
I am sure that you all know that she fractured her clavicle last Wednesday evening.
Life here is just a never ending medical clinic.
At least Gabe is off oxygen....

I Shamoo, Do you? or Aunt Kimi is Crazy

On June 21, 2008, I entered the glacial waters of Redfish Lake. The water temp was 52 degrees. I was fully clad in wet suit, booties, gloves, neoprene hat, and a whole bag of crazy.

I had three hats to help prevent the ice cream brain freeze that was sure to follow once the race began. I felt fairly confident that the 1000 meter swim couldn't be that far as I looked at the buoys. Then the kayakers that were sent out to be the guardian angels and shamoo catchers headed out. They looked so small and the distance looked so far. I started praying then that I just wouldn't die.

I recently finished my 25th half marathon in Rexburg in the Dam Half Marathon It was great!! (The swim was harder than all the halfs put together and run at once.) All the helpers wore shirts that said "Dam Volunteer". The full marathon started at Teton Dam, hence the name. I almost inherited a dog from the whole dam thing. The full head, full bodied lab with midget legs (4 inches at best) ran over 8 miles with me. I talked to the dog and informed him that he would be welcome to live in a small condo with 3 cats, one husband, and me if he showed up at the finish line. In the end, Rex (if it was a male dog) or Teton (if she was female) did not show up. Alas, another dog will find me when the time is right. Until then, run little Forest dog run!!!

After much praying, doggy paddling, and the occasional back stroke to allow my heart rate to drop below 200 bpm, I saw the swimmers ahead of me walking in the sand. I immediately began reaching below me. HOORAY!!! I finally reached the bottom and ran/beached ashore. Team Sagegrouse (pictured below) was off. Rich Drick was our fabulous biker and Joelene Diehl (known as Big Diehl) was our fabulous runner. Overall, we finished and each felt inspired to someday complete our own triathlon. I for one will not pick the race for recovery in Redfish again unless the temps are well above 70 degrees!!! Until then, I will continue to be a fish out of water searching for the see!!

Gabe has his first Birthday! Hooray!

Gabe turned one, last Wednesday on the 23 of April. I spaced it and totally forgot to blog the big day so i apologize. Gabe is the youngest of the Brett Pierson family crew. He is a chubby little boy. I have only really played with him just a bit at the wedding and at Christmas time. So he is probably getting huge by now (taking after his dad i guess). He is such a cute little boy and a probably starting to be a handful. When Gabe was born he was born with a defect in his heart he has already undergone several surgeries in his one year life. But he is tough and he will be a around for many more birthdays. Happy Late birthday little Gabe, we all love you. Love Clark and Lou.
